Fritz-Anders-Scholarship

The Collegium Oecumenicum Munich awards the Fritz Anders Scholarship to Christian students who have come to Munich as refugees. It was founded by the long-standing chairman of the board of trustees, Prof. Fritz Anders.

Objective

The scholarship is designed to enable refugee students to commence or continue their studies at a university or college in Munich.

Scope of the scholarship

For a period of one year (12 months), the scholarship holder resides rent-free at the Collegium Oecumenicum, participates in the program and its activities, and receives personal guidance from the director of studies and a tutor. There are no cash payments.

The scholarship can be extended.

Criteria

The scholarship is awarded to students who do not yet live at the Collegium Oecumenicum, based on the following criteria:

  1. Admission to a Munich university or college
  2. Social and/or church involvement
  3. The student came to Munich as a refugee (entry into Germany must not have been more than 5 years ago)
  4. Membership of a Christian church
  5. Willingness to engage in the communal life of the Collegium Oecumenicum.

Application procedure

The selection process is conducted by a selection committee consisting of the program director and elected student representatives from the Collegium Oecumenicum. Candidates should apply by email to Collegium.OecM@elkb.de. Promising applicants will be invited for an interview.
